Govt formulates draft Defence Production and Export Promotion Policy 2020

• Defence Ministry has formulated a draft Defence Production and Export Promotion Policy 2020 (DPEPP-2020), which has marked out clear goals and objectives to be undertaken by the Defence Ministry.
• The policy aims to provide impetus to self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme.
• The DPEPP-2020 predicted as overarching guiding document of Defence Ministry to provide a focused, structured and significant thrust to defence production capabilities of the country for self-reliance and exports.

• Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has received a mass fever screening system to enhance the screening process of passengers.
• The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have provided the thermal scanner in coordination with Asian Development Bank funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Andhra Pradesh CM, launched cybercrime awareness programme ‘E-Raksha Bandhan’

• Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched a one-month long virtual cybercrime awareness programme ‘E-Raksha Bandhan’ in Amaravati.
• The Aim of the Programme is to create awareness among women, youth and children on Cyber Crimes across the state.
• The Andhra Pradesh Police, CID, FM Radio, Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (CCPWC), Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF) and other organisations, organized the programme.

Central Government gave nod to Indian Premier League 2020 in UAE

• The Central Government has given the go ahead for Indian Premier League to be rescheduled in the United Arab Emirates from September 19 to November 10, 2020.
• Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will be the three venues of the tournament.
