NITI Aayog and Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) Released report under FAME II
- NITI Aayog and RMI released a report on opportunities for automobile sector and government under Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of electric vehicles II (FAME II) SCHEME.
- The title of scheme is “India’s Electric Mobility Transformation: Progress to date and future opportunities”.
- As per the report, if FAME II and other measures- in public and private space- are successful, India could realize EV sales penetration of 30% of commercial cars, 40% of buses and 80% of two and three wheelers by 2030.
The next census of India will be carried out in 2021
- Home minister announced that the next census will be carried out in 2021 with March 1 of the year as the reference date. For J&k and snow bound non-accessible area of Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand, the reference date will be the October 1 2020.
- India’s last censes was carried out in 2011.
ISRO Launched Enemy Radar-spotting satellite EMISAT
- The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Launched Defence Research and Development Organization’s (DRDO) defence intelligence satellite EMISAT along with 28 foreign satellites aboard PSLV-C45.
- ISRO Launched satellites in 3 different orbits for the 1st time.
- 28 international customer satellites, together weighing about 220kg, are from four countries-Lithuana (2), Spain (1), Switzerland (1) and USA (24).
- In ISRO’s next mission, PSLV-C46 will launch RISAT-2B in May 2019.

- TO integrate customer services and optimize value for customers, also covering common safeguard activities of underground assets.

- Bank of Baroda is now 3rd largest lender as DENA, VIJAYA merger takes effect
- Branches of vijaya Bank and Dena Bank will function as Bank of Baroda outlets from April 1, Following the amalgamation of the two lenders with the latter making Bank of Baroda the largest lender after SBI & HDFC Bank.
- Government infused Rs 5042 in BOB to enhance the capital base of BOB.
- Shareholders of vijaya Bank will get 402 equity shares (Rs 2 each ) of Bank of Baroda for every 1000 shares held.
