Ravi Shankar Prasad launches international version of UMANG App
- An online conference was organized under the leadership of Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad to facilitate the the occasion of 3 years of UMANG and 2000 plus services milestone.
- Wherein the Minister launched the UMANG’s international version in coordination with Ministry of External Affairs.
- The international version is for selected countries, which includes USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Netherlands, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
- The UMANG mobile app -Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance is a Government of India all-in-one unified, secure, multi-lingual, multi-service Mobile App.
- The focus of the app is providing access to high impact services of various Government of India Departments and State Governments.
Odisha Assembly passes ‘Odisha Essential Services (Maintenance) Amendment Bill-2020’
- The state assembly of Odisha passed the Essential Services (Maintenance) Amendment Bill-2020.
- The bill seeks to amend the existing Act of 1988 to prohibit strikes by employees of essential services in the state.
- Expanding the ambit of essential services, the bill includes services like fire service, excise, forest, prison reforms, electronics and Information and Communication departments.

Country’s first moss garden comes up in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district
- India’s first moss garden inaugurated in at Khurpatal in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district.
- The 10 hectares area garden developed by research wing of state forest department and inaugurated by Ramon Magsaysay awardee and renowned water conservation activist Rajendra Singh.
- The main aim behind developing the garden was to conserve the various species of moss and other bryophytes.
- The garden is with 30 representative moss species and other bryophyte species, including two species listed in IUCN Red List (Hyophila involuta and Brachythecium buchananii ) and a moss trail nearly 1.25 km long.

NASA-ESA launch sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite to monitor the oceans
- The US space agency NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) successfully launched ‘Copernicus Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite’, to monitor the rising global sea level.
- The joint US-European satellite lifted off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
- The Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite will help to enhance weather forecasts and provide detailed information on large-scale ocean currents to support ship navigation near coastlines.

NABARD sanctions RS 74.31 crore for Meghalaya roads
- The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 74.31 crore to government of Meghalaya for construction of 6 new roads and improvement of 24 existing roads.
- The amount sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF)-Tranche-XXVI.
- The roads will benefit 131 villages and will facilitate easy access to nearby health centres, marketing centres and educational institutions by the people.

Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur being observed today
- Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Guru of Sikhs, is being observed today across the country.
- It was on this day in 1675; Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life to protect religion, human values, ideals and principles.
- The martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur is remembered as Shaheedi Divas every year.
AAI observes Aviation Safety Awareness Week 2020
- Airports Authority of India (AAI) commenced Aviation Safety Awareness Week 2020 from 23rd November to 27th November 2020.
- The weeklong celebration is being observed at all airports and ANS locations managed by AAI across India.
- The main aim is to raise awareness on Aviation Safety; AAI will undertake various employee engagement programs at the airports and ANS stations like reviewing of documents and facilities, Mock exercises, preventive maintenance etc.
