NIDM in collaboration with IMD organises webinar series on “Hydro-Meteorological Hazards Risk Reduction”
- National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) in collaboration with India Meteorological Department (IMD) has organised a webinar series on the title “Hydro-Meteorological Hazards Risk Reduction”.
- The webinar series is on 5 different webinar aspects namely –
Thunderstorms and Lightning,
Cloudburst and Floods,
Cyclones and Storm Surges
Climate Change
Extreme Weather Events.
- The objective of the webinar series is to provide a valuable understanding on the hydro-meteorological hazards risk and a collaborative approach in its reduction.
Union Agriculture Minister launches Sahakar Cooptube NCDC Channel
- Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has launched the Sahakar Cooptube NCDC Channel that is initiated by National Cooperative Development Corporation.
- The initiative is a step towards One Nation One Market with the objective for India to become food factory of the world.
- The Minister also launched guidance videos produced by NCDC on ‘Formation and Registration of a Cooperative’ for eighteen different states in Hindi and regional languages.
Uttarakhand to develop India’s first snow leopard conservation centre in Uttarkashi forests
- Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat along with State forest minister Harak Singh Rawat has convened a meeting on developing India’s first snow leopard conservation centre in Uttarkashi forests.
- The conservation centre is set to come up at a place named Lanka, near Bhaironghati Bridge in Uttarkashi district.
- The Uttarakhand forest department along the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will build it.

India contributed USD 15.46 mn to India-UN Development Partnership Fund of UNOSSC
- India has contributed USD 15.46 million to the India-UN (United Nations) Development Partnership Fund as a support to fellow developing nations for their 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and related projects.
- Out of USD 15.46 mn, USD 6 million is contributed to the overall fund, in which all the developing countries are eligible for partnership, and USD 9.46 million dedicated to the Commonwealth countries.
- An amount of USD 15.46 million handed over by India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador T S Tirumurti to the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC).

Airtel Announced the Multi Year Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Amazon to Tap Startups and SME
- Bharti Airtel announced the multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide a comprehensive set of cloud solutions to the customers of large, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) customers in India.
- Bharti Airtel will act as a channel partner for AWS to tap start-ups, SMBs and sell the products of AWS and bundle them with its public cloud offerings.
- This partnership may extend to the collaboration around the Internet of Things (IoT) segment and machine learning (ML) to support the customers to adopt new services.

Ajay Tyagi gets 18 months’ extension as SEBI chairman
- Ajay Tyagi has been given an 18-month extension as the chairman of markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India, (SEBI).
- Department of Personnel and Training in an order said that, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Ajay Tyagi's term for 18 months.
- Tyagi, a 1984 batch retired IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre was appointed as the SEBI chairman in March 2017 for three years.

- He was a theatre director, drama teacher, and the longest-serving director of the National School of Drama (NSD).
- He was a notable recipient of Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
