Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Family and Health Welfare launched a new scheme, POWER - Promoting Opportunities for Women in Exploratory Research.
This initiative is to be implemented by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), a statutory body under the Dept., of Science and Technology.
The scheme is designed to mitigate gender disparity in science and engineering research funding in various Science & Technology programs in Indian academic institutions and R&D laboratories.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Zoological Park in Kevadia, Gujarat.
Along with the inauguration PM launched 17 other projects under Integrated Development of Kevadia. The projects include Navigation Channel, New Gora Bridge, Garudeshwar Weir, Government Quarters, Bus Bay Terminus, Ekta Nursery, Khalwani Eco Tourism, Tribal Home Stay.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated several projects such as Arogya Van, Arogya Kutir, Ekta Mall and Children Nutrition Park at Kevadia in Gujrat
Arogya Van has 5 lakh plants of 380 different species spread over an area of 17 acre.
Arogya Kutir has a traditional treatment facility named Santhigiri wellness centre which will provide healthcare based on Ayurveda, Siddha, Yoga and Panchakarma.
The Mall displays a diverse range of handicrafts and traditional items from all over India symbolizing unity in diversity and is spread over 35000 sq ft. The mall consists of 20 Emporia each representing a specific state in India and is built in just 110 days.
It is the world’s first ever technology driven nutrition park for children and is spread over an area of 35000 sq ft. It will raise nutritional awareness through various edutainment activities like Mirror Maze, 5D Virtual reality theatre and Augmented reality games.

The Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL) of India, has announced plans to achieve an export target of $25 billion by calendar 2025.
PLEXCONCIL sponsored by the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry is to represent the export community of the Indian Plastics Industry.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or the National Unity Day is celebrated on October 31^st in each year to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabahai Patel – the Iron Man of India.
The 2020 National Unity Day marks the 144^th anniversary of the freedom fighter.
He played a major role in the integration of India from over 560 princely states.
