The Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the second edition of Global Bio-India-2021 in New Delhi through virtual mode on 1^st March 2021.
The theme for this year is “Transforming lives” with the tag line “Biosciences to Bio-economy”.
The 3-day event will showcase the strength and opportunities of the India’s biotechnology sector at national level and to the global community.
The three-day event being held from 1st to 3rd March 2021 has been organized on a digital platform.
The Minister also unveiled the “National Biotech Strategy” and also inaugurated the Virtual Exhibition of Global Bio-India.

Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI), the implementing agency of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is celebrating 3rd Janaushadhi Diwas on 7th March, 2021 while the celebrations were started on 1^st March 2021.
The theme of Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2021 is “Seva bhi – Rozgar bhi”.
Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana is an initiative by Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India to provide quality medicines at an affordable price.

Fact:

The 45th Civil Accounts Day was celebrated on 1^st March, for the first time by virtual mode.
The Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) was established in the year 1976 through the Departmentalisation of Union Accounts (Transfer of Personnel) Act, 1976.
ICAS has been leading the reforms in Public Financial Management leveraging the digital technology including the development and management of PFMS (Public Financial Management System), the unified and single IT platform through which the payments and accounting functions related to the Union Government are performed.

The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) celebrated its 9th Foundation Day on 1^st March.
LPAI is a statutory body working under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing border infrastructure in India.
The body was established in the year 2012 with its headquarters at New Delhi.

Mahindra University in Hyderabad made a disinfecting robot called MUDRA (Mahindra University UV Disinfectant Robot Autonome).
The indigenously developed MUDRA robot helps to sanitise surfaces without the intervention of humans.

Matam Venkata Rao has taken the charge as the new Managing Director cum CEO of the state-run Central Bank of India on 1^st of February 2021.
His term of office is for a period of three years.
Headquarters of Central Bank of India is located in Mumbai.
