NITI Ayog Health Index
- NITI Ayog released the second edition of Health Index.
- The Index ranks the States and Union territories based on 23 Health-related indicators, including neonatal Mortality rate, under five Mortality rate, proportion of low birth weight among new born, proportion of distribution with cardiac cause unit, full immunization coverage and proportions of specialist positions vacant at district hospital.
- The report stated that only about half the states and Union territories showed an improvement in the overall score between 2015-2016 (base year) and 2017-2018 (reference year).
- Kerala is the best performing state and U.P is least performing state.
- Only three states- Rajasthan, Jharkand and Chattishgarh showed improvement in the overall performance.
- Top five - Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, Gujarat, Punjab.
- Bottom five- Uttar pradesh, Bihar, odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttrakhand.
Government will beat 2022 target set under PMAY(u)
- The government's target of constructing one crore houses by 2022 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (urban) could be completed by the end of 2020, Union housing and urban affairs ministry of state (independent charge) Hardeep sing puri.
- The 1.26 lakh crore committed for the scheme, 52, 113 crore had been released so far, and the economically weaker section can get 1.5 lakh for the construction of homes.
- The scheme also includes in Institute of Slum Redevelopment and Credit Linked subsidies.

- Uttarakhand Hospitals to be penalised over Rs 1 crore for irregularities in Ayushman Bharat scheme.
- Uttarkhand'S Atal Ayushman Bharat yojana (AAUY) Scheme, run under Ayushman Bharat, has allegedly been riddled with irregularities.

Credit Access Grameen to start 'Save water' campaign
- Bengaluru Headquatered Credit Access Grameen, a Non Banking Micro- finance institution which focuses on providing credit to the needy for the toilet construction and water connection distributed over 11.26 lakh loans its inception.

RBI panel wants Rs 5 crore stressed fund for MSMEs
- Reserve Bank of India(RBI) committee has recommeded doubling collateral-free loans for Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), self help groups and borrowers falling under the pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana to 20 lakh.
- The Eight Member panel, headed by former securities and Exchange of India chairman U K Sinha, has also suggested creating a stressed asset fund of Rs 500 crore to protect the sector from distress caused by external circumstances.

Bank's Non - performing assets may dip to 8% of advances by March 2020 says crisil
- Higher recoveries and a slow down in new bad loans are likely to reduce bank assets (NPA) to nearly 8% percent of their advances by March 2020.

K Natarajan to be the new Director general of Indian coast Guard
- Krishna Swamy Natarajan has been appointed as the next director general of Indian of Coast Guard. He will replace the incumbent Rajendra Singh who is retiring after three and a half year of illustrious service.
K. Natarajan joined the coast Guard on January 18, 1984 and holds a Masters Degree
- in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University.
OBITUARY
Goa freedom fighter from Goa and Padmashri Winner Mohan Ranade passes away after a prolonged illness.
- Ranade was a member of the Azad Gomantak Dal, a group of revolutionies who believe in the doctrine of armed attacks against the Portuguese colonial rule and participate in ambushes on several Portuguese installations in Goa.
