India and Uzbekistan sign nine agreements to strengthen strategic partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Climate Ambition Summit 2020 on 12^th December 2020 held virtually.
The summit was co-hosted by UN, UK and France marks the 5^th anniversary of Paris Agreement 2015.
PM mentioned about the targets achieved abiding the agreement. He said that India has increased it's solar capacity from 2.63 Gigawatt in 2014 to around 36 Gigawatt in 2020.

The 5th India- Myanmar Bilateral Meeting on Drug Control Cooperation between the Narcotics Control Bureau, India and the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control, Myanmar was held virtually.
Both countries agreed on the exchange of intelligence information in a timely manner to conduct follow-up investigations in drug seizure cases, new psychotropic substances and their precursors.
The 6th India - Myanmar Bilateral Meeting on Drug Control Cooperation will be held in India next year.

UNESCO to launch international prize in the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for “creative economy”.
The first award will be given from November 2021, once in two years, with a cash prize of 50 thousand dollar for global economic initiatives of the youth.
UNESCO has declared 2021 as ‘International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development’.
Currently, there are 23 UNESCO International Awards in the name of international celebrities and organisations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have expressed their continued commitment to take India-Uzbekistan strategic partnership to a new and higher level.
The MoUs signed will enable the cooperation between the countries in various areas such as new and renewable energy, digital technologies, cyber security, community development projects, and in sharing of information on movement of goods.

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under Ministry of Commerce and Industry has devised a comprehensive action plan to boost production and sale of indigenous toys across the country.
Centre has mentioned Handicraft and Geographical Indications toys are exempted from Quality Control Order.
Quality control order was issued by the Department for standardization and quality adherence of Toys
The order will come into effect from 1st January next year.

National Energy Conservation Day is observed on December 14 every year.
The day is observed to improve awareness among the people about the importance of conservation of energy.
