AP signs MoU with AMUL to help Women Self Help Groups

• The Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a MoU with AMUL to enhance the Cooperatives in the government sector.
• The MoU also ensures to entitle the women self-help Groups (SHG) and the farmers in the state to get better prices for their products.

Haryana CM Launched E-Sachivalaya Portal

• The Chief Minister of Haryana has launched e-Sachivalaya Portal, for taking online appointment to meet the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and any other heads of the Government virtually.
• He also launched a web portal for plasma donation.
• The online appointments for e-Sachivalaya can also be taken through Atal Seva Kendras (rural) and Saral and Antyodaya Kendras (cities).

Actor Sonu Sood launches Pravasi Rojgar app to help migrants find job opportunities

• Actor Sonu Sood has launched a free online platform in Maharashtra called 'Pravasi Rojgar' to help migrants find job opportunities in various sectors across the country.
• The platform will also be offering specific job training programmes like spoken English.
• The app will provide all the necessary information and right linkages to find jobs.
• The online platform has over 500 reputed companies related to construction, apparel, health care, engineering, BPOs, security, automobile, e-commerce and logistics sectors, and offering job opportunities.

Pakistan and China signed an Agreement for 700 MW Azad Pattan Hydel Power Project in PoK

• The Engineer Procurement and Contract (EPC) agreement was signed between Pakistan and Gezhouba Group Company Limited of China.
• The agreement is for the 700 MW Azad Pattan Hydel Power Project on Jhelum River in the Sudhnoti District of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
• This is the 2^nd Power project under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
• The first project was for the 1100 MW Kohala project worth 2.3Billion USD, on the Jhelum River near Muzaffarabad.
• CPEC is a part of the One Belt One Road (OBOR), which is aimed at developing and improving the infrastructure with Pakistan for better trade with China.

Greta Thunberg – an Environmental activist won 1st edition Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity

• Sweden based young climate activist, Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg became the first recipient of the 1st edition of Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity.
• She is recognized for her ability to mobilize younger generations for the cause of climate change.
• The award comprises of price money of about 1 million euro ($1.15 million) and is given by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Turkmenistan gets observer status in World Trade Organization

• Turkmenistan has been granted Observer status by the World Trade Organization (WTO ) General Council.
• Turkmenistan has become the last former Soviet republic to establish formal ties with the trade body.
• The Central Asian country filed a request for Observer status in May and expressed willingness to trigger the talks on accession to the WTO within five years.

FamPay launched India’s 1st numberless card, Famcard

• India’s first Neobank for teenagers, Fampay in collaboration with IDFC First Bank has launched India’s 1st numberless card, FamCard.
• They developed the Famcard with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
•  It is accepted across the RuPay payment network of merchants and is similar to a debit card that enables teenagers to transact in a cashless manner.

LIC-UBI announced corporate agency agreement

• Union Bank of India (UBI), after its merger with Corporation Bank and Andhra Bank, has announced a corporate agency agreement with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to distribute their policies.
• UBI can act as a financial supermarket by offering LIC products.
