Government Launches Portal for Subsidy Scheme Under PMAY
- Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched Credit Link Subsidy Scheme Awas Portal through which people seeking to avail housing subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban will be able to track their applications.
- Under CLSS, the Centre provides interest subsidy of up to around Rs 2.67 lakh on home loans to individuals, which reduces the principal outstanding amount of the loan.
- According to the ministry, to accomplish 'Housing for All Mission', Global Housing Technology Challenge-India was launched to get globally acclaimed, alternate and proven construction technologies for speedier and cost-effective construction of affordable housing.
- At the event, Memorandum of Agreements for Light House Projects under GHTC-India were also signed between the ministry and six states--- Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh's government announced a five percent reservation to sportspersons in state government jobs.
- Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Jitu Patwari announced while inaugurating the Regional Olympic Games in Gwalior.
- The Chief Minister's recommendation, an arrangement is being made in the new sports policy so that sportspersons can get a 5 percent reservation in government jobs.
- The players have to remain without jobs even after winning medals at the national and international levels.
- The public participation would be ensured in the expansion of sports facilities, adding that the Kamal Nath government was creating a better environment for the sports in the state.

Amaravati finally finds a place in political map of India
- The Survey of India released a new political map of India with Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, which became the residuary State after bifurcation of combined Andhra Pradesh in 2014.
- Amaravati was missing from the new map, which was released by the Survey of India on November 2.
AP govt launches helpline for corruption-related complaints
- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy launched 14400, a citizen helpline number meant to enable people to complain about graft in government departments.
- The chief minister made the first call on the occasion to the call centre and enquired about its functioning.
- Citizens could directly call the helpline and lodge a complaint against corruption in any government department.
- All complaints would be investigated in 15 to 30 days and required action taken.
Nokia’s plant in Chennai to reopen by March 2020
- After being shut for more than half a decade, Nokia’s Chennai plant is likely to resume operations soon.
- It had been bought by Finland-based Salcomp — the world’s largest maker of mobile phone chargers and a key supplier for Apple.
- It is expected to start operations by March 2020. Salcomp will invest ₹2,000 crore over the next five years. It will bring direct employment to 10,000 people and indirect employment to 50,000 people.

Ashok Leyland inks strategic financial partnership with ICICI Bank
- Ashok Leyland, the second largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in India with their complete range of BS VI ready vehicles, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with ICICI Bank to enter into a strategic financing partnership for two years.
- The MoU will enable both Ashok Leyland and ICICI Bank to offer customised financial solution to customers across India with focus on semi-urban and rural geographies.
- The Bank will work in close coordination with the authorised dealers of Ashok Leyland to provide financial solutions to the customers.
- The joint initiative will enable both the organisations to effectively leverage the combined strengths of Ashok Leyland’s best-in-class products and ICICI Bank’s significant distribution reach in India.
Muthoot Finance to Venture into Mutual Fund
- Muthoot Finance will soon venture into mutual fund asset management space, as the non-banking financial company has announced to acquire IDBI Asset Management Limited and IDBI MF Trustee Company Limited, upon approval from the regulators, including SEBI.
- The transaction is expected to be completed by February 2020-end.

- Kerala cadre senior IAS officer Suman Billa is set to join the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) at its head quarters in Madrid Spain.
- He will take charge as director, Technical Cooperation and Silk Road Development at D1 level at UNWTO.

- CII Institute of Quality, in its 27th Quality Summit held in Bengaluru earlier this week, bestowed India’s first ‘Quality Ratna’ award to Suresh Krishna, Chairman, Sundram Fasteners Ltd.
- Suresh Krishna has been a role model for the society in embracing the principles of quality in both personal and professional life.
- He pioneered the constitution of the TPM Club of India in collaboration with the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance in 1998 and was its first Chairman.

Three Indians clinch Golden Target award
- The world’s best shooters Anjum Moudgil and Apurvi Chandela, the young Elavenil Valarivan was able to close the season as the World No.1 in women’s air rifle.
- Air rifle shooter Divyansh Singh Panwar and air pistol prodigy Saurabh Chaudhary will also receive the award as the World No. 1 for the season in their events.
- The 20-year-old Elavenil had wound up the season in brilliant fashion by winning gold in the World Cup final in China. She had earlier won the gold in the World Cup in Rio and was placed fourth in the World Cup in Munich.

- The Golden Target is the award given by the ISSF as a “tribute to the best athletes of the year according to the annual ranking in each of the individual Olympic events”.
Sangram Dahiya, Varsha Varman win double trap national titles
- Haryana's Sangram Dahiya and Varsha Varman of Madhya Pradesh clinched double trap titles, winning gold at the 63rd National Shotgun Shooting Championship in New Delhi.
- In men's category, Sangram shot 142 out of 150 targets to leave behind former world champion Ankur Mittal, who managed 137 hits over the five rounds of 30 targets each to win a silver.
- Punjab's Prithvi Singh Chahal won bronze with a score of 135.

- Constitution Day or Samvidhan divas, is being celebrated today across the country to mark the adopting of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949.
- It came into force on 26th January, 1950, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of Indian Republic.
- The government has planned yearlong activities throughout the country to mark 70 years of the adoption of the Constitution.
