8th Meeting of the India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments
- The eighth meeting of the India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments was hosted by India virtually.
- The meeting was co-chaired by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- This Joint task force was created in 2012 for further strengthen the economic ties between the countries.

6 women led startups win COVID-19 Shri Shakti Challenge organized by MyGov
- Six women led startups have won COVID-19 Shri Shakti Challenge organized by MyGov in collaboration with UN Women.
- Main aim is to encourage and involve women led startups to come up with innovative solutions that can help in the fight against COVID19 or solve problems that impact a large number of women.
- This was a unique challenge hosted on the Innovate platform of MyGov that called for applications from women led startups as well as startups who have solutions that address issues faced by a larger number of women.
- The Challenge was implemented in two stages: Ideation stage and Proof of Concept (PoC) Stage.
First Phase of Malabar Naval Exercise begins in Bay of Bengal
- The First Phase of the 24th edition of the Malabar Naval Exercise has begun in Visakhapatnam, Bay of Bengal.
- Indian Navy, United States Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force and Royal Australian Navy are taking part in the Naval Exercise.
- Malabar Naval exercise is being conducted since 1992 as a bilateral maritime exercise between Indian Navy and United Nations Navy.
- Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force joined Malabar in 2015 and now in 2020 the Australian Naval force has also joined for the first time.
- The 24th edition of the Malabar Naval Exercise is scheduled in two phases, the second phase is scheduled to be conducted in the Arabian Sea by the mid of November.
IREDA signs MoU with MNRE, setting key targets for year 2020-21
- Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), for setting key targets for the year 2020-21.
- The MOU was signed by MNRE Secretary, Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi and IREDA CMD, Pradip Kumar Das.
- IREDA has supported green power capacity addition of 17,259 MW in the country.

WWF released list of 100 cities to face greatest rise in water risks by 2050
- The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has released the report on Water Risk Filter, which says that About 30 Indian cities will face increasing “water risks” in the next few decades.
- It also reported that 100 cities that hold importance in national as well as global economies and are home to 350 million people are set to face the greatest rise in water risks by 2050.
- Two Indian cities — Jaipur (45th) and Indore (75th) — feature in this list.
- In the list of the 100 cities set to face a dramatic increase in water risks, Egypt’s Alexandria tops the list.

- The legendary violinist T.N. Krishnan passed away in Chennai at the age of 92.
- The eminent violinist is a recipient of several prestigious awards including Padma Vibushan.
- The renowned violinist Tiruppunithura Narayanaiyer Krishnan is from kerala.
