National Fertilizers Limited to set up an Organic Waste Converter Plant
- National Fertilizers Limited, NFL, a PSU under the Department of Fertilizers is going to set up an Organic Waste Converter, OWC Plant in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh.
- The project is an initiative towards Swachh Bharat Mission; aims to recycle around 2000 Kg per day of the biodegradable waste generated in township including the horticulture waste and convert it into compost.
- The biodegradable waste collected in the unit will be transported to OWC where it will be segregated from non-degradable parts.
- The unit plans to utilize the compost as manure in various outdoor works around the community.

Army Sports Institute, Pune awarded with Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar 2020
- Army Sports Institute, Pune has been awarded with “Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar 2020” by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
- Army Sports Institute, Pune was built-up as part of Indian Army’s “Mission Olympics” programme on 01 Jul 2001.
- The aim was to train the vast reservoir of talent in the Army in selected seven disciplines to include Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Diving, and Fencing, Weightlifting and Wrestling with an ultimate aim of winning medals at Olympics.

National Commission on Population has Projected India’s Population to be More Feminine by 2036
- The National Commission on Population under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) submitted the Report on population projections July 2020, titled “Population projections for India and States 2011- 2036”.
- The report projected that the India’s sex ratio of the total population is expected to be more feminine in 2036 compared to the population as of 2011.
- The report projects India’s population to increase by 25.7% in 25 years at a rate of 1% annually i.e., from 121.1 crore to 151.8 crore during 2011-36.
- The report also estimated that the population growth rate would decline by 8.4% during 2021-2031.

6th Round Table of ASEAN-India network of think tanks (AINTT) held
- The Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand organized the two-day long 6th Round Table of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) -India Network of Think Tanks (AINTT).
- The theme of the conference is “ASEAN-India: Strengthening Partnership in the Post COVID Era”.
- Union External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai inaugurated it.

Saudi Arabia's state oil company Aramco suspends China oil refinery project worth 10-bn dollar
- Saudi Arabia’s state oil company Aramco has suspended a deal to build a 10 billion dollar refining and petrochemicals complex in China.
- The oil-price crash and Corona’s impact on energy demand have changed the calculations for energy companies’ projects around the world.
- Aramco decided to stop investing in the facility in China’s Northeastern province of Liaoning due to uncertain market outlook.

SBI Partners with AddaCorner to Launch ‘Online Home Carnival’
- State Bank of India (SBI) has collaborated with India’s First Real-Time Group Negotiation E-Platform, AddaCorner to launch ‘Online Home Carnival’, which will help in boosting the Real Estate market in Bangalore.
- The Carnival will invite potential homebuyers to come together as a group and directly negotiate with empanelled real estate sellers on a real time basis.

- National Sports Awards 2020 were announced by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Ashwani Bhatia Appointed as Managing Director of SBI
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed Ashwani Bhatia, as the Managing Director (MD) of SBI.
- He succeeds PK Gupta, who superannuated on March 31, 2020.
- Bhatia was earlier served as the Deputy Managing Director of State Bank of India (SBI) and currently as MD and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at SBI Mutual Fund.
