Government of India has released the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, on 25^th February 2021.
The new IT Rules is to curb the misuse of social media platforms.
The rules will establish a self-regulatory architecture and a Code of Ethics and also a three-tier Grievance redressal mechanism.

Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ delivered the inaugural address at the 16th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2021 on 25^th Febraury.
The 16th edition of FICCI higher Education Summit is being organised virtually by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The theme of the summit is ‘‘Higher Education @ 2030: R.I.S.E. - Resilience. Innovation. Sustainability. Enterprise’.

The City Innovation Exchange (CiX) platform was launched by Shri Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs at an online event.
The platform will be a significant addition to the growing innovation ecosystem of India and focuses on fostering innovative practices in cities.
CiX, through an ‘open innovation’ process, engages with innovators to design-test-deliver on solutions to pressing urban challenges.
The City Innovation Exchange (CiX) will connect cities to innovators across the national ecosystem to design innovative solutions for their pressing challenges.

The 24th edition of the India-USA Executive Steering Group (ESG) meeting was held at New Delhi from 22 to 24 Feb 2021.
The meeting was attended by a 12-member delegation from the US Army in person and virtually by 40 officers from different locations from the USA.
The forum is an Army-to-Army engagement that meets every year alternately in India and USA to discuss Army to Army cooperation.
For the first time the meeting was held both in person and through virtual mode owing to restrictions of COVID-19.

The Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India has elected S Sridhar as its next President.
Sridhar will server the post for a term of two years.
The Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) was established in 1965 and represents the research-based pharmaceutical companies in India.
It has headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Sri Mannathu Padmanabhan on his death anniversary on 25^th February.
Mannathu Padmanabhan was a social reformer and freedom fighter from the south-western state of Kerala.
He was born on 2^nd January 1878.
He fought for social equality in the Vaikom Satyagraha in 1924 and several other social reform activities.
