RBI Grade B 2021 Vacancy :

RBI Grade B Vacancy 2020 will be updated once the official notification is released. The number of vacancies for the post of RBI Grade-B 2019 was 199. Willing students can fill the application form for the preferred post. In the year 2018, the total number of vacancies was 166. RBI Grade B Exam: Eligibility Criteria :

Eligibility criteria include Age limit and Educational Qualification. For RBI Officers (Grade-B) examination, the lower and upper age limits were 21 years and 30 years respectively. Complete Eligibility criteria will be updated once the official notification is released. Certain relaxation is also given based on the certain factor as given below:

Educational Qualification :

A minimum of aggregate 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th standard examinations.

RBI Grade-B Educational Qualification :

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General)
  • A minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor's degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.
  • The minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters / years.
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DEPR
  • A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course / Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University / Institute OR
  • PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University / Institute; OR
  • Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business / developmental / applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University / Institute.
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM
  • A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years OR
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR
  • M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

RBI Officers (Grade-B) Salary

  • As per the official notification of the RBI, the starting salary of RBI Grade B Salary in hand will be around ₹35,150/-.
  • The RBI Grade B Salary is tabulated below:

  • That is not it, there are other perks as well like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc. will also be provided.

RBI Grade B 2021: Application Fees :

Based on the previous year’s exam fee, it is expected to be the same this year as well which is a total of ₹850/- is the application fee to be paid by candidates belonging to the General and OBC category for RBI Grade B 2020 exam while the same amount is reduced to ₹100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.

Important Note


Interview (50 marks) :


Candidates are shortlisted for the personal interview round based on an aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III). Candidates are given the option to opt for interview either in Hindi or English. Final Selection is done through merit list which is prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II examination and interview.

Marks obtained by the candidates in the Main examination will be considered for shortlisting for Interview and preparation of final merit list.

The penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both - Preliminary and Main examination) :


There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Online Objective Tests. For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question is deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. No marks are deducted for un-attempted questions.

Phase – III : IBPS PO Interview :

  • The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The qualifying marks in the interview are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview for final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
