“Ekam Fest” Begins Today at New Delhi.

  • Under the Ministry of Social Justice& Empowerment, a week-long exhibition was organised by the National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) named as “Ekam Fest”.
  • The exhibition was instituted at State Emporia Complex, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.
  • EKAM (Entrepreneurship, Knowledge, Awareness, Marketing) is an effort for promoting entrepreneurship and knowledge among Divyangjan community.
  • The fest is an initiative of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation(NHFDC).
  • Union Minister of Social Justice& Empowerment: Thaawarchand Gehlot.

 

Multilingual Incredible India website launched in New Delhi.

  • Minister of State for Tourism & Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel launched the multilingual Incredible India website in New Delhi.
  • The website was already furnished in Hindi and English, now the version of Chinese, Arabic and Spanish were launched to attract tourists from these regions.

 

“Suposhit Maa Abhiyaan” was launched by Lok Sabha Speaker.

  • Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla launched “Suposhit Maa Abhiyan” a national campaign from Kota, Rajasthan on 1st March.
  • The main focus of this campaign is to create malnutrition-free India and to keep pregnant women and newborn health intact.

FPI Minister launches MIEWS Web portal for farmers.

  • Union Minister of Food Processing Industries (FPI), Harsimrat Kaur Badal launched a web portal named the Market Intelligence and Early Warning System (MIEWS).
  • The web portal serves for ‘real time monitoring’ of prices of tomato, onion and potato (TOP) and generating alerts for intervention under the terms of the Operation Greens(OG) scheme.

 

MoU was signed between Tripura Government and AAI.

  • Airports Authority of India(AAI) and the Tripura Government both signed an MoU on the construction of 6 equipment hiring centres in Manu Block under the Dhalai District of Tripura.
  • The equipment hiring centres will consist of equipment related to agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries and will be offered to the needy farmers, Self Help Groups and to others at a minimal cost.

 

UP Government changes the name of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu, Arabi-Farsi University in Lucknow.

  • The Uttar Pradesh Government approved a proposal of changing the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu, Arabi-Farsi University name in Lucknow.
  • The University will be named as “Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Languages University”.
  • For this process, the State University Act – 1973 will be amended.
  • Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Adithyanath.
  • Governor of UP: Anandiben Patel.

China takes up Presidency of UN Security Council for March 2020.

  • China takes over as the President of the United Nations Security Council for the month of March 2020.
  • China's permanent representative to the UN, Zhang Jun pledged to promote solidarity and cooperation in this capacity.
  • The UN Security Council is mainly established to work to maintain international peace and security.it consists of 15 members-  5 permanent members and 10 non-permanent members elected for two-year terms.

 

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu won in the General Election.

  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed victory in the general election in Israel in the third election of this year.
  • He belongs to the right-wing Likud party.

 

Abhishek Singh appointed India's next Ambassador to Venezuela

  • The Ministry of External Affairs(MEA) has appointed Abhishek Singh as the next Ambassador to Venezuela.
  • He is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Kabul.

Former GE chairman and CEO passes away.

  • Jack Welch, the former chairman and CEO of General Electric co passed away.
  • Welch joined GE as a chemical engineer for its plastics division in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He was elected the company's youngest vice president in 1972 and became vice chairman in 1979.

 

Rajeev Suri to step down as Nokia CEO.

  • The chief executive of Nokia Rajeev Suri is stepping down from his position.
  • Pekka Lundmark, the outgoing President and CEO of energy firm Fortum, has been elected as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nokia.

Yonex Dutch Junior International 2020.

  • Young Indian shuttlers Tasnim Mir and Mansi Singh has won Bronze medal in the girls' singles event at the Yonex Dutch Junior International 2020 in Haarlem, Netherlands.
