UN world pulses day hosted by India in New Delhi.
- UN world pulses day was celebrated on February 10th every year since 2019. India hosted the event for this year and was held in New Delhi.
- The date was assigned by the UN general assembly and aims to bring attention to activities and information connected to the pulse sector worldwide.
- World pulses day was established by the food and agriculture Organisation of the UN.
- The event was organized by NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation of India Ltd) in collaboration with Global Pulse Confederation (GPC).
- NAFED is the central agency of government of India for attaining of Pulses & Oilseeds, Copra and Cotton at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
- Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare: Shri Narendra Singh Tomar.
National Deworming Day 2020
- The tenth round of National Deworming Day (NDD) campaign was conducted by the ministry of health and family welfare.
- The main focus is to reduce the prevalence of Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH), commonly called the parasitic intestinal worms, among all children and adolescents.
- The collaborative implementation is a key conciliation of Anemia Mukt Bharat.
- The NDD largest public health program implemented on a single day reaching crores of children and adolescents through two NDD rounds every year was launched in 2015.

Web Portal Launched for Star Rating of Mines in India
- Ministry of Coal has launched a web portal for star rating of coal mines at New Delhi, India.
- With an aim to promote green, safe and sustainable mining practices using technology.
- This portal enables self-rating of all operational coal mines across India, subsequent validation by Coal Controller’s Organization (CCO), followed by further evaluation and finally award of star rating.

India to host Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS)
- The 13th Conference of Parties (COP13) of the Convention on the CMS a treaty under United Nations Environment Programme is to be hosted by India.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the convention during 17th to 22nd February 2020 at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
- The theme of CMS COP13 in India is, “Migratory species connect the planet and we welcome them home”.
- Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change: Shri Prakash Javadekar.
Minority Affairs Ministry inaugurates “HUNAR HAAT”.
- “Hunar Haat”, being organised across the country by the ministry of minority, a “Mega Mission” of economic empowerment of the needy master artisans and craftsmen.
- Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Union Minister for Minority Affairs inaugurated “Hunar Haat” at Vijay Nagar in Indore, Madhya Pradesh which will be in active from 8th to 16th February, 2020.

Bangladesh inaugurates 5th Dhaka Art Summit.
- The fifth edition of the Dhaka Art Summit was inaugurated in Bangladesh by State Minister for Cultural Affairs.
- Dhaka Art Summit is the premier art festival of Bangladesh.
- This year’s summit will notice a special exhibition on the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to pay tribute to Bangabandhu on the occasion of his birth centenary.

ADB approves funding to fight nCoV
- Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved funding of $2 million to boost efforts to combat the spread of Novel Coronavirus.
- The funding aims at strengthening the region’s health systems resilience and capacity for epidemic response in China, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam.
- It will also support in the supply of diagnostic and laboratory equipment for rapid testing to help combat the outbreak of the virus.

BOB and Union Bank cut lending rates.
- Union bank and Bank of Baroda cuts their lending rates by 5-10 bps.
- BoB has reduced its one-year MCLR by 10bps to 8.15% and one-month MCLR by 5bps.
- Union Bank of India reduced its 3-month MCLR rate by 5bps to 7.80%. and the one-year MCLR at 8.10%.
