New species of Cockroaches are found in Western Ghats.

• During a survey conducted by the scientists of the Southern Regional Centre, Zoological Survey of India, in the Western Ghats of Tamilnadu a new species of cockroach was found.
• As it was discovered in the region of Kalakkad- Mundanthurai region the scientists named it as “Allacta Kalakkadensis”.
• This new species differs from others by sexual wing dimorphism, pronotal, facial markings, and the Male Genetalia.

Fourteen MoUs were signed between India and Russian Companies.

• The MoUs were signed during the 5^th edition of DefExpo2020 in Lucknow for setting up joint ventures covering a range of equipment from modern T-90 tanks to legacy Pechora air defence system.
• The MoUs comes under the Intergovernmental Agreement(IGA) signed between India and Russia for the joint manufacturing of spares in India.
• IGA was signed for the mutual coordination in manufacturing spares, components and other materials related to Russian origin defence systems.

Chennai tops the list of Noisiest Metro Cities- CPCB.

• According to the data revealed by Central Pollution Control Board(CPCB), Chennai becomes the noisiest metro cities in the whole country.
• The limit of noise level for commercial area is 65decibels(dB) during day time and 55dB at night time.
• Chennai records an average noise level of 67.8dB during the day time, whereas even Delhi recorded only 61dB.
• The CPCB recorded the data during every month of 2018 in all the major 7 cities across the country with the help of installation of various centers in different zones- commercial, residential, industrial and silent.

No. 47 Squadron of Indian Air Force Celebrates Diamond Jubilee.

• No. 47 Squadron of Indian Air Force completed its 60 years of service to the nation, to recognize it they celebrated the diamond jubilee event.
• Air Force Station at Adampur organised the Diamond Jubilee celebration, where it is presently stationed.
• The motto of the unit, “Karmani Vyapurutham Dhanuhu” is translated as “My bow is always stretched for its task”.

• All India Conference of Central Administrative Tribunal 2020 was held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
• The Judicial and Administrative Members from all 17 Benches of CAT from all over the country attended the one-day event of the conference.
• The Conference was chaired by the Union Minister for Law and Justice.

Manipur celebrates 'Lui-Ngai-Ni' festival at Ukhrul.

• The Naga tribes of Manipur has celebrated the festival “Lui-Ngai-Ni” at Tangkhul Naga Long ground in Ukhrul.
• The Manipuri seed sowing festival was celebrated with the theme "Oneness through Culture” on Feb 15, 2020.

NIT, Trichy develops a mobile app.

• “Thirumathikart” - a mobile app for the products of Self Help Groups was developed by the National Institute of Technology, Trichy.
• The Mobile Application was developed with the cooperation from the Union Department of Science and Technology.
• The App was developed with the focus of empowering women and helping them in approaching the Opportunities in the Market.

India-Bangladesh joint military exercise concludes in Meghalaya.

• The two week long 9^th edition of the joint military exercise of India-Bangladesh, “SAMPRITI-IX” was concluded at Umroi, Meghalaya.
• The joint military exercise was mainly focused at strengthening the military relations between the two countries.

GulFood 2020 fest kick starts in Dubai.

• Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, inaugurated the India Pavilion at the 25th Edition of the GulFood 2020, Dubai.
• The event will be held from 16^th February to 20^th February,2020.
• Gulfood is the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition being held at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Indian Oil to build an Oil Terminal at Karnataka.

• A public sector oil marketing major, the Indian Oil Corporation has planned to build a ₹500 cr Oil Terminal at Chitradurga, in Karnataka.
• MoU was signed between the executive director and the head of state, Indian Oil, Karnataka and the principal Secretary Commerce and Industries in the presence of the chief minister of Karnataka, in the “Invest Karnataka” meet at Hubbali.

BioAsia 2020 Announces the Genome Valley Excellence Award.

• Asia's largest annual global Biotechnology and Life Sciences forum, “BioAsia” organised by the Government of Telangana has announced the Genome Valley Excellence Award for the year 2020.
• The award will be given to Dr. Carl H June, CAR-T Cell Therapy Pioneer and Richard W. Vague Professor in Immunotherapy, Dept. of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, USA.

India won 3 medals in World SnowShoe Championship.

• Indian athletes bagged three medals in the World Snowshoe Championship at Myoko, in Japan.
• Ayan Bin Shahnaz bagged silver, Zain Ali and Muzamil Hussain Mir bagged bronze medals in their respective categories.
